Twin craze!

It's becoming an epidemic. I mean, I don't know if it's a bad thing, but it seems like now, in Hollywood, if you're going to be pregnant you need to be pregnant with 2 or more kids to get any press on it. It started nearly 4 years ago with Julia Roberts. Well, I think there were others before her, but she was the A+ lister at the time. Then there was Marcia Cross last year. Now this year, there's Nancy Grace, Jennifer Lopez, Dennis Quaid, Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, and just announced Lisa Marie Pressley. All with twins. How is this happening? Well, it could be as simple as genetics. Or, are the stars so eager to have kids they are getting hormones shots to increase egg production? We know artificial insemination was a case for Dennis Quaid and his wife, as they had a serrogate mother. As for the others, I think the answer will lie in how many of these celeb moms have fraternal twins.

So, why do I care that there are so many celebs having twins? Well, this is showing me that I need to prepare myself for multiples. It's not enough to be able to handle one child at a time anymore, you must be able to handle 2 or more, if you're going to be a nanny in Hollywood.

UPDATE 3/20: Angelina Jolie will give birth to twins in her late mother's native France, if the latest U.S. news reports are to be believed. Celebrity magazine In Touch reports the actress and partner Brad Pitt are expecting a boy and a girl. The couple has yet to confirm the baby news, even though Jolie's ever-growing belly suggests she's with child, and their publicist is offering a firm "no comment" on the latest reports. According to In Touch, Jolie was overheard cooing about her unborn babies on the set of Pitt's new movie, Tree Of Life, in Texas, telling one pal the little ones are "kicking and moving." A source tells the publication Jolie and Pitt were overjoyed when they heard they'd be having twins after a visit to their obstetrician/gynecologist Dr. Jason Rothbart last week. The insider says, "Because she took fertility treatments to help her ovulate, her babies are fraternal. They're ecstatic. She can't wait." The source adds, "She's (Jolie) out of breath a lot, but she loves every second of it (pregnancy)." The couple is reportedly set on having the twins abroad - and France is a favorite destination, according to the publication.

I read this just now on http://www.imdb.com/. Sometimes I wonder if I'm psychic. LOL!!!
